ALL ISLAND ESSAY AND ART COMPETITIONS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN
Year 2021 has become a challenging year for whole world as we had to live through the COVID pandemic. Meanwhile, global lockdowns and restrictions to normal living resulted in major changes to our lifestyles. Lifestyle has a major impact on chronic illnesses like Diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol, heart disease and stroke. Therefore, despite all these challenges we have to try our best to lead a healthy lifestyle to prevent another dangerous pandemic of Diabetes and other chronic illnesses in the near future. In addition, incorporation of healthy habits into the routine lifestyle will protect us from COVID 19 infection.
Sri Lanka Diabetes Federation (SLDF), the public arm of the Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists has decided to conduct Annual Diabetes day competitions for commemoration of the world diabetes day 2021, with the theme of “Combat Diabetes and COVID 19 with healthy living”
All submissions must adhere to the following guidelines and should be submitted to srilankadiabetesfederation@gmail.com on or before the 20 of October 2021 with acompleted application form. In completed applications and late submissions will not be accepted. The entries become copyright of SLDF, and the SLDF shall have the right to use them to create awareness in digital and print versions.

Rules and Regulations
TOPIC: “COMBAT DIABETES AND COVID 19 WITH HEALTHY LIVING”
Objective: Focus on new ways of healthy living to prevent Diabetes and other non-communicable diseases amidst the COVID pandemic while protecting yourself from COVID infection
Age categories:
> Junior Category: Between 5 and 10 years of age on 01.01.2022
> Intermediate Category: Between 11 and 15 years of age on 01.01.2022
> Senior Category: Between 16 and 18 years of age on 01.01.2022
1. The Essay and Artwork should be sent to srilankadiabetesfederation@gmail.com along with fully filled application form.
2. Ascanned copy or a photograph of hand written essay or a typed essay should be sent in PDF or JPEG format. It can be written in Sinhala, Tamil or English languages.
3. Artwork should be done in A3 size art paper, and its scanned copy or photograph should be sent in PDF or JPEG format.
4. Medium-any (charcoal, digital, crayons, water paint, oil paint or any other)
5. The all articles must be original, without any form of plagiarism.

Junior category: 250 words
Intermediate category: 1000 words
Senior category: 1500 words
