The Ministry of Education has modified the mandatory attendance rate for students taking the 2023 GCE Advance Level Examination. Minister Susil Premajayantha announced that students now only need a minimum of 40% attendance to qualify for their exam applications. This decision was made in response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the country's economic crisis on the education sector. A circular has been issued to all education officials to implement the revised attendance rate, applicable only for this year's examination. The 2023 GCE Advance Level Examination is scheduled to be held from November 27 to December 21, 2023.
