The B.Sc. Degree programme is intended to help raise the general educational standards of the public by providing an opportunity for further education in Science. This programme allows those who are already working in the field and late developers to earn a B.Sc. degree on their own time and at a low cost. Its specific goals are as follows:
(a) provide individuals with the opportunity to obtain a Science Degree, thereby improving their promotional/career prospects
(b) allow those already working in the field, late developers, and those who could not afford higher education at the end of their secondary school career to obtain a degree.
(c) allow anyone to pursue a degree in Science on their own time and at a low cost.
(d) combine courses from within and outside the Faculty to meet the interests or job requirements of a student.
The B.Sc. programme includes courses at Levels 3, 4, and 5/6, which correspond to the first, second, and third years of a traditional university's B.Sc. Degree programme. For the B.Sc. Degree, a student can select three disciplines from Botany, Chemistry, Pure Maths, Applied Maths, Computer Science, Physics, or Zoology, depending on their qualifications.
