MSc in applied Statistic 2022 - colombo university


Eligibility

A Bachelor’s Degree in Science from a UGC recognized university or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to the Senate of the University of Colombo. The candidates will be selected based on academic merits and/or a screening test, followed by an interview.

In addition, students are expected to pay registration fees, library fees and examination fees.


MSc (Res) in Applied Statistics


Only the students who successfully complete Parts I & II will be eligible to proceed to Part III leading to the MSc (Res.) degree programme.

Application Procedure

Download the application form here. 
A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2000/- should be credited to “University of Colombo, account at the People’s Bank, Thimbirigasyaya Branch, using the Application Fee code 314052400005”. Payments should only be made at People’s Bank branches island wide.
Duly completed application form and other documents together with the paying-in-voucher of the application fee should be submitted online on or before 30th November 2021

Scanned copies of the following in pdf format need to be uploaded via the google form:
1) Completed application form
2) Bank slip for paying the application fee Rs. 2000/-
3) Degree certificate and any other relevant educational certificates
4) National ID card
5) Passport size photograph

  • Qualified entrepreneurs and enthusiasts with an interest in Statistics and related fields.

Mode of conducting the lectures will depend on the situation of the country

Programme Structure and Duration
The duration of Parts I and II of the MSc program is 24 months while that of Part III is of a further 12 months.
Students registered for part II should complete it within 6 months.
The maximum period allowed to complete the degree is five (05) years from the date of first registration.
Students who fail to complete Part I and Part II within 3 years from the first registration will not be allowed to register for Part III.
