Indian Undergraduate Scholarships offered by Rajiv Gandhi
Scholarship Scheme – 2020/21
Applications are invited from eligible Sri Lankan students for the award of undergraduate
scholarships offered by the Government of India under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for
the academic year 2021/22.
Number of scholarships: 25
01. General Eligibility requirements: -
(a) Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
(b) Age should be below 22 years on 10.05.2021
(c) Students should have gained three passes at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination conducted by
the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka
(d) Should possess a high proficiency in English. (Should have obtained a “C” pass in English
at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination and “S” pass at the G.C.E A/L Examination)
(e) Should be in good health and ready to live in India during the period of study.
(f) Applicant should not be already registered or following a course at a university in Sri
Lanka as an internal student (a student selected by UGC based on the G.C.E. A/L results).
02. Medium of Study: English
03. Field of Study : (Only for Mathematical stream)
- Engineering - Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical
- Engineering…etc.
The ICCR Scholarship council does not arrange admission in Medical/Dental/Paramedical
(Nursing, Physiotherapy, anesthesia)/Fashion Design.
- Field of study selected at the beginning, will not be changed later under any circumstances. 2
04. Scholarship Benefits:

- Approved tuition and exam fees
- A grant for books and apparatus, where applicable
