Announcement for Admission of Student Teachers to National Colleges of Education
The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the admission of two (02) groups of student teachers to National Colleges of Education concurrently, offering a comprehensive three-year pre-service National Diploma in Teaching program. This program is based on the results of the G.C.E. (A/L) examinations conducted in 2021 or 2022, for the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
1.0. Application Process
Applications are hereby invited from candidates who possess the necessary academic qualifications and eligibility criteria to pursue the three-year pre-service National Diploma in Teaching Course at a National College of Education.
1.1. Eligibility Criteria
This invitation is applicable solely to individuals who have successfully completed the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in either 2021 or 2022.
1.2. Application Eligibility
Candidates who have appeared for and cleared the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in the years 2021 or 2022 are eligible to apply.
1.3. Application Submission
All applicants are required to submit their applications online as per the guidelines outlined in Chapter 10.0 - 'Instructions for Applying' of the Gazette notification.
1.4. Multiple Applications
Applicants who qualify based on their results in both 2021 and 2022 must submit two separate online applications.
1.5. Deadline for Applications
The deadline for submitting applications is on or before 05/04/2024.
1.6. Application Responsibility
It is the responsibility of each applicant to thoroughly review and comprehend all details provided in the Gazette notification and to complete the application accurately. Requests for rectifying incorrect applications will not be entertained at a later stage.
1.7. Course Vacancies
Before completing the application, applicants are advised to carefully consider the number of positions available for each course in each district, based on the G.C.E. (A/L) results of 2021 and 2022. This information is detailed in tables 14.1 to 14.8 in clause 14.0 of the Gazette notification.
